We are back...

I haven't posted for a while... I was under the impression that taking care of two kids would be as easy as taking care of one. After all, my two year old was already potty trained, and pretty independent. She could keep busy with her toys and all... Well, I was wrong, anyway, but now I'm ready to post a few pictures.

Me... In the hospital, right before that C-section.

First picture of the baby... Awful, huh?

Daddy giving the baby her first "bath"...

My two-year-old getting to meet her little sister.

A big one of my new baby, the day she was blessed.

I'll probably post some more later... But now I'm feeling a little lazy. And a little grumpy... My soccer team lost one of the most important games of the brazilian championship yesterday, and I just can't get over it.

Tomorrow...

Well, I guess I'm really leaving for the hospital tomorrow to go through another c-section... I am really, really nervous, so if you read this before 5:00 pm of July 1st, please remember me in your prayers...

Extra grumpy today!!!!

Well, for those who knew I wanted to try a V-BAC this time... It's not gonna happen!! I went to see my third doctor during this pregnancy (yes, I kept changing doctors... That's how hard I was trying to have a normal delivery after that first c-section), and was told they wouldn't do it either... but I was free to go and try to find yet another doctor... Problem is... if you take a look at the little countdown on the left side of the blog, you'll see I have about 3 days before the baby is due... To find someone and convince them that I don't need a second C-section.

So, I guess I have pretty much given up on the idea... Not without a lot of crying and complaining first, of course. Have to register my disappointment with my second doctor, specially, because I wasted so much time going to see her, since she told me she'd have no problem doing a V-BAC, and then, 3 weeks before the due date, changed her mind. Thanks a lot, Dr. Atwood!

So, people... I'm giving my baby a chance to come on her own, and scheduling the C-section for one day ater the due date... LOL... Doubt it's gonna happen, though... So, they're taking her out of there on July 1st.

Just a grumpy update on my life.

About a very special dad...

So, this post is dedicated to this guy I know... I happen to be married to him, and I could not have imagined what an awesome dad he would be. He is our daughter's favorite person, her best friend.

From the moment she was born, it was like they were glued together... In the hospital, he changed every diaper, went to every exam she needed to go through, swaddled, her, rocked her to sleep...

He is still the person who can calm her down during her tantrums, because he talks to her like she is already grown up. He fixes and feeds her meals, takes care of her when she is sick (they actually always get sick together... that's how close they are...), reads bed time stories, sings "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" (since she was inside my belly... and it is still her favorite song), and puts her down for her naps.

I am so blessed to have married a man who takes his role as a dad so seriously. He is the best. Just ask our little girl....

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, HONEY!

Finally Done!

Yep. I think she finally got it... It has been a few good weeks without any accidents. No more diapers, no more "spray 'n' wash"episodes... It took a little longer than I expected... And she never really use the little kid potty... She would get up from those and "go potty" on the floor... So I had to put her in the big potty with the toddler support for her to finally get it.

And if you think this picture is a little too explicit, don't even watch the Japanese video that taught her to use the potty... And that has become one of her favorites... hehehehe... This one...

First Mommy's Day Gift

So thrilled! When daddy buys you stuff and makes a card for the baby to scribble her signature, it is cute and all... But this gift she made me in the church nursery is soooooo adorable!

Maybe with time all the hand prints, colored pictures, macaroni necklaces, etc. will lose their magic, but, for now, I'll proudly display this little treasure, because it means so much. And I don't care one bit that she really didn't want to make it (she hates getting her hands dirty) ... What really matters is that it was done, and it is mine! Almost like a recognition for the sleepless nights, the messy kitchens, the dirty diapers and the crayon art in my walls.
